Yard Operative - Towcester

£25,000 plus Bonus - Supply Chain Logistics

The Role:  Yard Operative

Location: Towcester

Salary: £25,000 per annum plus Bonus

Status: Permanent

Hours: 0800 -17:00 Monday to Friday. (9 hrs less 1 hr break - 8 hrs per day) Saturdays 09:30-16:30 (7hrs less 1/2 break - 6.5hrs + day in lieu)

            38.5 hours per week including Saturdays (no Sundays) Paid for 40 hours per week

Your Mission: 

A fabulous family run business with traditional values, seeking to recruit an outstanding Yard Operative for their prestigious site in Towcester. Your mission if you choose to accept it - To play a pivotal role in supporting the team with general yard duties along with dealing with customers on a daily basis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the Yard Supervisor to ensure standards are adhered to
  • Assisting all customers in the yard and loading customer vehicles
  • Picking customer orders in a timely manner
  • Merchandising stock and ensuring products are kept tidy and stored safely
  • Taking telephone calls and dealing with enquiries professionally and efficiently
  •  Adhering to health & safety policies and quality standards
  • Safeguarding against loss and theft of stock by being security conscious at all times
  • Supporting with incoming deliveries, making sure stock in the yard & warehouse is put away correctly and kept tidy in line with Health & Safety guidelines
  • Over the counter sales enquiries
  • Processing customer orders
  • Assisting Office staff with general duties such as stock and sales enquiries
  • General yard duties and housekeeping

The Ideal Candidate Profile:

Yard experience preferably

Full UK Driving License preferably

FLT experience preferably

Good communication and customer service skills

Flexible and adaptable

A positive attitude
