The Role: HSE Advisor

Location:  Coventry

Salary:  £35-£40k DOE

Hours: Mon 2 Fri – 42 hrs per week, flexible on start and finish times

Your Mission: The HSE Advisor will provide support in all HSE activities, ensuring Health & Safety standards are always adhered to across all three sites in the Coventry area. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the candidate is required to provide support in compliance with HSE legal requirements, as well as providing employees with training.

The Position:

  • To support all HSE activities under the leadership of the HSE Manager.
  • Auditing of compliance with HSE procedures.
  • Coordinating toolbox talks and regular HSE training including maintaining training records.
  • Carry out HSE inductions for new starters.
  • Undertake regular site inspections and audits and implementing actions as required.
  • Create and review risk assessments including manual handling and COSHH.
  • Assist with incident investigations.
  • Support continuous improvement for legal compliance and ISO 14001 & 45001 processes.
  • Assist with managing the ‘Save a Mate’ initiative from promoting and training to collating suggestions and providing feedback.
  • Reviewing contractor RAMS and auditing of contractors.
  • Assist with annual occupation health review.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • At least 2 years Health & Safety experience; manufacturing background preferred; chemical background desirable.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • IT Literate (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-sufficient with a desire to learn new skills and progress as a Health & Safety professional.
  • Strong, confident character with drive, energy and enthusiasm; able to build relationships across all levels of an organisation and advise all employees on behaviours and actions that are necessary for a safe culture for all.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to collect, sort, analyse, review, communicate and present numerical and statistical analysis on HSE KPI’s.
  • Driving license and use of own car as travel will be required at multiple sites around Coventry area.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and part of a team.
